Every once in awhile I go to a live drawing class in the city. This is my favorite rendering from Thursday night's class of Bryan.
I use mostly brush and ink with water. I wish I hadn't chucked so many of my art supplies. And I wish I was freer with my lines but I am way rusty with this sort of thing.

Ginger
I did not draw this...
I don't know who did. I wish the internets would credit the illustrations they use. This is pulled from a fun list of the hottest redheads in comic books. I quibble with the order but Matt Murdock (aka Daredevil) and Jean Grey (aka Phoenix) had to be on there and at least they're in the top ten.

change of plans
i have decided that this "i used to draw" blog is going to be my dumping ground for non-cinematic things (in addition to art stuff) whenever I feel like posting them (i cover cinema here)
so there.
Like this sixth grade prodigy doing "paparazzi". Be amazed (if you aren't one of the one million views it's already gotten

More fun with iPhone "Brushes"
I never post to this blog. Which is sad. I actually didn't mean for this blog's title to be so apt and descriptive. It was intended to spur me on to actually draw in the present tense. But anyway... I'll post something else soon. I MUST DRAW. I miss it so much.
I did get better with the iPhone art though. Here's my second, third and fourth attempts...
I also got a wacom drawing tablet for Christmas (thanks honey) but am still learning how to use it. Perhaps it will eventually result in a real life for this blog?
Stop laughing!

I did get better with the iPhone art though. Here's my second, third and fourth attempts...
- one. That's me. I gave myself hair again. Wishful thinking? This drawing comes with Rogaine!
- two. randomness. just a doodle. I have always drawn blondes with ample cleavage.
- three. Bye Bye Birdie during one of my Mad Men fits... which are often.

Behold "Ed" !
my first attempt at iPhone art, "painted" in 5-10 minutes as I tried to figure out the controls. this is my friend Ed. he is prettier in person than this fumbling portraiture implies. he also has nice green eyes and does not sport spooky District 9 ready contact lenses. nor is he half alien.
painting with big clumsy fingers is just not the same as painting with the trained flick and dart and stab of an artistically tempered wrist.
what am i talking about? i shall try again soon because "Brushes" is a phun application or myPhone

Delayed Reaction. Start Up Dot Com(e On!)
I inked this picture of me (watching a movie, natch) a few years back. My parents used to joke that I was born with a pencil in my hand. I used to doodle relentlessly. I still do if I'm not near a computer. Computers have destroyed my life or at least consumed it. But I miss the drawing, I do.
So I set up this blog many moons ago and promptly forgot by which user name, email address and whatnot by which I could access it. But here I am again...
Will I do anything with it? Time will tell. But I used to draw... and I wish to do so again
